What is Aesthetic Dental Filling?

Aesthetic dental filling  is a process, during which anatomical shape of the tooth is restored or new ones are created. Gingival sulcus, dental tubercles can be restored, the shape of teeth, colour, direction might be changed during this process.

Aesthetic filling is a method of restoration without damaging dental tissue and gums that helps to restore the functions of teeth by ensuring their strength, resistance and compatibility with the surrounding mucosa.
Aesthetic filling is usually performed when:

  • There is a desire to have whiter teeth that was not achieved with whitening procedures. Then, the surface is slightly roughened with the drill and covered with filling material of desired whiteness at the same time protecting the existing dental tissue.
  • There are unwanted gaps between teeth which are filled with filling material during the procedure.
  • Front teeth are worn down, shortened, soft tissue of the tooth – dentin, which wears even faster, is exposed. In this case, teeth become sensitive and painful over time. Therefore, aesthetic plumbing is recommended in case of worn-down teeth not only because of more beautiful view after the procedure but also because of better condition of the teeth and their preservation.
  • Front teeth are crooked, and the braces are refused for some reason.
